Timbs has been around for a long time. I don’t need to tell you anything about that. But you might not know about Timberland’s newer models.

Believe me or not, they’ve really upped their game with their newer work boots. I know how fast people wear out their work boots. So, you’re always looking for that new, ideal pair.

This time take some time to take a look at Timberland’s work boots. I’ve got an entire list of the best Timberland work boots, each best in their own category.

Let’s start with the quick recommendations first. I know how busy some of you are. So, this here’s for you guys. And if you want to know about all the dirt, the descriptions there too-

Table of Contents

Quick Recommendations

1. Timberland Men’s White Ledge Mid Waterproof Ankle Boot

  • Upper Material: 100% premium waterproof full-grain leather from an LWG Silver-rated tannery.
  • Weight: 1.1 Pounds.

Features

  • Recycled Rubber Lug Sole.
  • Premium Leather.
  • Compression-moulded EVA foam midsole comfort system.
  • Waterproof.
  • 4.75-inch shaft.

This might not look like a work boot at first glance. But there’s an interesting part about it. Timberland originally designed it to be a pair of hiking boots.

Well, guess what? Hiking boots also work pretty great as work boots. In fact, this might be even better as a pair of work boots than hiking boots.

Even though this isn’t the most lightweight pair of work boots, 1.1 pounds is pretty decent. But that might be a drawback for some people.

For a work boot, weight isn’t usually a factor. What you want is durability for many years. The best part is that this boot delivers that without the con of dragging a heavy brick on your feet.

Most importantly, the boots are completely waterproof. No matter whether you work on your lawn or in any other rough environment, your feet won’t get drenched.

And if you apply some mink oil or any other protective material, there won’t be any damage in many years to come. A lot of people think that a good, expensive pair of boots should not require any other treatment whatsoever.

Well, they couldn’t be any more wrong. All leather boots need extra care for longevity. This one isn’t an exception. With proper care, these Timberland White Ledge boots will last years to come.

Downsides and thoughts

While the top inlets are pretty great for putting on the boots, it’s the laces that create a problem. This isn’t that big of a deal. The laces are just thicker than usual.

The only problem you’ll face is when you’ll tighten the laces. Thin laces are much easier to tighten(think of how easy it is to tie your formal shoes). Other than that, there aren’t many major problems.

2. Timberland PRO Men’s Pit Boss 6 Inch Steel Safety Toe Industrial Work Boot

  • Upper Material: 100% premium waterproof nubuck leather with steel toe
  • Weight: 1.8 Pounds.

Features

  1. Oil, Shock, and Abrasion-resistant Rubber Sole
  2. Premium Waterproof Leather
  1. ANSI Safety Standards
  2. Anti-fatigue Insole
  3. PRO 24/7 Comfort Suspension Technology
  4. 6-inch shaft

You all know about this one. We’ve all seen it in the market for a long time. And these boots deserve the recognition they get. They come with the uncompromising quality of the Timberland PRO Series. Let’s start going by them one by one.

As the name suggests, these are truly industrial work boots that will survive any kind of rough terrain or anything you throw at them. No matter how rough the condition gets, they’ll get you through the task with their superior waterproofing and comfort.

Speaking of waterproofing, the PRO Men’s Pit Boss boots come with nubuck leather. Now, I know what some of you are thinking. How can nubuck leather survive rough conditions?

Well, like every other pair of boots, you need to do something extra for water protection. Even without additional protection, your feet will stay waterproof.

But as you all know water and leather aren’t really best friends. After some usage, the boots WILL show wear and tear without the protection. So, don’t skip it.

Even though it’s significantly heavier than the previous boots, it comes with more safety boots. It’s a true work boot with all the features you can expect.

Downsides and Thoughts

This isn’t much of a problem if you think about it. These boots are quite heavy, making them unusable for casual wear. However, if you want a durable pair of work boots that will last you through many years, there aren’t that many competitors around.

And you can wear them casually. You just have to keep in mind that weight will probably tire out your legs.

3. Timberland PRO Men’s Boondock 6 Inch Composite Safety Toe Waterproof Industrial Work Boot

  • Upper Material: 100% premium waterproof nubuck leather with composite safety toe
  • Weight: 2.5 Pounds.

Features

  1. Oil, Shock, and Abrasion-resistant TPU Sole
  2. Everguard Leather
  3. 10.5” Boot Opening Measurements
  4. ANSI Safety Standards
  5. Anti-fatigue Insole
  6. PRO 24/7 Comfort Suspension Technology
  7. 6.5-inch shaft

Another one from the Timberland PRO Series. And this one’s in the premium price zone. Well, it’s not as expensive as the many other premium brands out there.

But what I love about Timberland is they about the average Joes out there who can’t afford to buy thousand dollar work boots.

However, even with a limited price tag, they included everything they could. If you’re already convinced about the durability of Timberland boots, this premium pick from their PRO series isn’t going to disappoint you.

I won’t be talking about the bookish features. You all know how to figure that out. I mean, let Amazon do its job.

Let me tell you what you need to know. Remember the shock, abrasion, and oil-proof rubber sole Timberland used to provide? They even did that with some of their PRO Series models.

But they jacked it up with this product. This one includes a TPU outsole with rubber toe protectors. I can go on and on about how well the grip is even in the roughest terrains.

However, this is something you need to experience yourself to know for sure. Just remember this, they’re way better than the average Timberland rubber sole.

In terms of looks, it kind of looks like the Classic Timberland boots on steroids. All the safety features are jacked up to the max.

If you don’t have any problem with spending a bit of extra money, these are the ones for you. To be honest, you are getting a much better pair of boots than the market offers at this price point.

Downsides and Thoughts

I love these boots. The only problem I see is the price. But who can blame us? Customers always want the best product while spending less. I do hope they can lower the price at some point.

4. Timberland Men’s Anti-Fatigue Waterproof Mt. Maddsen Boot

  • Upper Material: 100% premium full-grain waterproof leather
  • Weight: 1.06 Pounds.

Features

  1. Oil, Shock, and Abrasion-resistant Rubber Sole
  2. REBOTL Fabric Lining
  3. TimberDry Eco-conscious Waterproof Membrane
  4. Anti-fatigue Insole
  5. 5-inch shaft

I gotta be honest with you. Timberland didn’t mean to build this as a work boot. I mean, you can guess from the name that it’s a hiking boot.

But the advantage of hiking boots is that they are quite lightweight and they are easy to walk on. Not everyone works in an industrial environment, you know?

Some people simply want a lightweight pair of work boots that will keep their feet in comfort while protecting them from water and other hazardous stuff.

Lucky for you, the Timberland Men’s Anti-fatigue Waterproof Mt. Maddsen Boots can get that job done pretty well. And the most important fact is, you don’t have to treat them solely as work boots.

Thanks to the stylish design and being lightweight, you can wear them anywhere you like. However, there are problems you’ll face.

While it is quite lightweight, the safety features are pretty much non-existent. I mean, yes, they will protect your feet. But when compared to a proper industrial work boot, these are nothing.

If you really want to make these boots live a long time, make sure to apply mink oil or any other protector every once in a while.

Just take a look at your boots. If they look dry, then the moisture is gone and you need to take out the mink oil from your cabinet.

Downside and Thoughts

I don’t need to tell you this. You can pretty much guess from the looks that these aren’t much heavy-duty. They will get by moderate use but don’t throw too many things at them. Or else, you’ll be disappointed. There are other heavy-duty duty boots for that purpose.

5. Timberland PRO Men’s Powertrain Athletic Work Shoe

  • Upper Material: Fabric with breathable mesh linings
  • Weight: 1.31 Pounds

Features

  1. Athletic work boots
  2. Breathable Mesh Linings
  3. Static Dissipative Protection
  4. Sole infused with Anti-fatigue Technology
  5. Super Lightweight

The problem is most work boots are made out of different types of leather. And to support the structural integrity of that build, manufacturers often have to add in a bunch of different materials.

Now, the materials themselves work pretty great. There’s no complaint about that. You’ll get top-notch safety features with the rugged build quality.

The problem appears when you wear the boots for a long time and you’ll feet get tired. Personally, I know plenty of people who have 10 to 12-hour shifts. And the worst part is they have to stand on their feet most of the time.

If this sounds familiar to you, then the Timberland PRO Men’s Powertrain Athletic Work Shoes are for you. Well, there’s that too.

These aren’t technically boot’s par say. Nevertheless, Timberland tried something new with their PRO series which is a dedicated lineup for work boots and shoes as you can see.

While you might not notice it, these come with top-of-the-line alloy safety toes. And of course, there are well-known Timb features like anti-fatigue technology and their very own man-made outsole for roughing it up on the terrains.

On top of that, the breathable mesh linings keep your feet breathing at all times. This is the rough and tough pair of sneakers(well, you can’t call them boots)you’ve been looking for all this time.

These aren’t made out of leather and they don’t have the typical look of a work boot. Nonetheless, they still come with static dissipative protection to protect you from any electrical hazard.

No matter what type of environment you work in, you can’t go wrong with these boots. But if you don’t like the looks of it, there are different variants of this model.

The Timberland PRO Men’s Drivetrain Mid Composite is a great choice. In terms of sportiness, these boots look much better. But that’s just my opinion. The Timberland PRO Men’s Powertrain Sport Mid Alloy Toe EH is another variant.

I’m not going that deep into these boots. When it comes to the basic features, these three boots are almost the same. Click on the links if you want to know more about them.

Downsides and Thoughts

It’d be better if these came in a bit cheaper. I’m not complaining but people who work in harsh conditions will go through a lot of these boots. I mean, they’re not made out of leather. Obviously, they won’t last that long. But with a lower price tag, it’d be easier to buy another pair.

6. Timberland Men’s Flume Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot

  • Upper Material: Full-grain waterproof leather
  • Weight: 1.2 Pounds

Features

  1. Waterproof seal for ultimate protection
  2. Gusseted tongues for keeping out debris
  3. Compression-molded EVA midsole
  4. Rubber Sole with multidirectional lugs for traction
  5. 8-inch shaft

Before you spit it out, let me do it for you. Yes, the Timberland Men’s Flume looks a lot like the Timberland While Ledge. There’s no way to deny the similarity.

Despite all the similarities on the outer part, there are differences when you get to the insides. The best approach would be to cut both of them apart and see the differences. Let’s hope I can do that one day.

The main difference is the use of material. The flume has more leather in it compared to the White Ledge model. What this does is increase the water resistance.

Fabric will get wet if it comes in contact with water. Leather saves you from that trouble. Although some people seem to think that the Flume isn’t comfortable as the White Ledge.

I can’t find any logical consistency with that statement. If you ask me, you’ll get a great pair of boots either way. Another problem is people are complaining these aren’t waterproof.

Well, let me clear it out for you. No leather boot is going to be 100% waterproof. If you walk in rain or deep puddles, obviously your feet won’t be fully dry. If you truly want waterproof boots, go for rubber boots.

Downside and Thoughts

I’ve seen this enough times to know this is true. The top eyelets can come off after a while. There’s no guarantee it will happen but there’s also denying that a lot of people faced this problem.

7. Timberland PRO Men’s Endurance 6 Inch Steel Safety Toe Puncture Resistant Work Boot

  • Upper Material: Premium full-grain leather with asymmetrical steel safety toe
  • Weight: 2.1 Pounds.

Features

  1. Steel shank added for structural support
  2. Oil, Shock, and Abrasion-resistant TPU Sole
  3. Puncture Resistant (Non-metallic plate)
  4. Lacing customization thanks to dual hardware on top
  5. ANSI Safety Standards
  6. Anti-fatigue technology
  7. PRO 24/7 Comfort Suspension Technology
  8. 5.5-inch shaft

If you want an ideal pair of work boots that were built for job site performance, the Timberland PRO Men’s Endurance is a superb choice. The boots are completely waterproof meaning you can work anywhere you want at any time of the year.

On top of that, the boots come with steel toes that’ll protect your feet from all kinds of materials. And the safety measurements don’t there.

The sole itself is made out of several effective materials. Whether it’s comfort or puncture resistance, these boots sure tick all the boxes.

The puncture-resistant non-metallic plate and the Powerfit Comfort System combined make for a comfortable yet super durable pair of boots. And it goes without saying that, the boots are heat, slip, and abrasion-resistant.

But that’s not even the best part. I mean, why trust me when you can try them out yourself.

Yes, you saw that right. You can try out the boots for 30 days to see if the comfort’s enough for you. If they don’t suit you, you can very well return them. No questions asked.

Downsides and Thoughts

These are premium boots. So, they are certainly not cheap. While this might be the only considerable con, you shouldn’t get discouraged by it. Work boots are an investment you shouldn’t avoid. While regular work boots might last you a year or two, these will last a lot more than that. That said, the choice is yours.

8. Timberland PRO Men’s Helix 6″ Waterproof Safety-Toe Boot

  • Upper Material: Distressed premium full-grain waterproof leather with a waterproof membrane and steel toe
  • Weight: 1.94 pounds

Features

  • Anti-fatigue technology
  • Powerfit comfort technology
  • Timberland Pro Rubber
  • Electrical hazard protection
  • Waterproof leather protection
  • Alloy safety toe
  • 30-day comfort guarantee

Do you suffer from Hallux Rigidus or Limitus? Then, these are the work boots. I’ve plenty of people over the years who aren’t comfortable with their boots. I mean, if you’ve got these disorders, it’s not easy to find the right pair of boots.

Most importantly, you will go countless work boots that will cost you a significant amount of money. People working in rough conditions already have to replace their footwear from time to time.

And there’s no really no point if you don’t put that money to good use. A lot of steel toe boots don’t offer the right kind of feeling. How the boots hold your feet is a big factor when it comes to comfort.

That’s where the Timberland PRO Men’s Helix comes in. These boots come with a stiff shank that’s also recommended by podiatrists.

It won’t matter if you have to wear the boots for long periods. They will still hold on pretty well.

Because of the superior fit, your every step will be full of confidence. The way these boots contour your feet is better than most affordable work boots out there.

And this also means that you will break them in much faster. When you wear the boots, your feet stay where they were meant to be. So, obviously, the break-in process is going to be much faster.

Downsides and Thoughts

I guess it would’ve been better if the boots came with BOA laces. But Timberland doesn’t really do that. I really like these work boots so that would’ve made it a complete package.

9. Timberland PRO Men’s Direct Attach 6 Inch Soft Toe Insulated Waterproof Work Boot

  • Upper Material: Wheat nubuck leather with a soft toe
  • Weight: 1.81 pounds

Features

  • REBOTL material
  • Anti-fatigue technology
  • Timberland Pro rubber
  • Seam-sealed waterproofing
  • Antimicrobial odor protection
  • Pro Comfort System

We all know how good the Original Yellow boot is. It’s what made Timberland such a popular brand. But the yellow boots weren’t really made for durability.

Well, they are durable but not durable enough to survive rough work environments. That’s where Timberland PRO Men’s Direct Attach Work Boot comes into play.

It’s got all the look and style of the original model while still being much more durable. The boots are waterproof with the seams sealed for added protection.

But it is leather. So you will get them wet if you keep them submerged in water. People tend to misunderstand this waterproofing. Never forget that it’s not the same as the IP68 waterproofing of your phone.

Like all the PRO series boots, these also come with Anti-Fatigue Technology which has a polyurethane footbed. What this does is absorb shock much better and make the best of your energy which in return increases the overall efficiency of the process.

Downsides and Thoughts

It’s more of a surprise than a downside. People who’ve worn the yellow boots will feel that these boots are significantly heavier. They’re still much lighter than most work boots that’s for sure. But I’m only telling you this to give you a heads up.

10. Timberland PRO Men’s Titan

By now, you have a pretty good idea about the Timberland PRO series. This time it’s about the Titan model. I’ve chosen 3 different variants of the Titan model.

The features are more or less safe for all 3 of them so let’s get that out of the way before we jump into the main review-

Features

  • Alloy safety toe
  • Open-cell polyurethane cushion footbed
  • Moisture channeling spacer mesh lining
  • Powerfit Comfort System
  • 30-day comfort guarantee
  • Antimicrobial odor protection

Timberland PRO Men’s Titan 6″ Safety-Toe Work Boot

  • Upper Material: Soft full-grain leather with alloy safety toe
  • Weight: 2 pounds

If you’re in the work boots arena for a long time, you know that these boots come with a lot of flairs. I don’t why but they tend to boost up the colors for some reason.

Maybe some people consider that as a sign of enhanced durability. But in reality, that doesn’t have much benefit.

If you’re anything like me, you like the more minimal stuff of life. The Timberland PRO Men’s Titan offers exactly that. If you ask me, these might be the most clean-looking work boots Timberland has in its collection.

And there are the all-known safety and other kinds of features of the PRO series. I’ve already discussed those at lengths. So, you should have a pretty good idea.

These boots have got all those features along with the minimal and clean look. On top of that, it’s much lighter too thanks to a shortage of unnecessary decorative materials. You might think those don’t add up much weight. But they do, trust me on this.

Downsides and Thoughts

Even though the comfort is pretty great, the boots do run a half size big. If you don’t plan on wearing thick wool socks, the best approach would be to size down.

Timberland PRO Women’s Titan Waterproof Boot

  • Upper Material: Soft full-grain leather with alloy safety toe
  • Weight: 2 pounds

If you ask my honest opinion, I’d say there aren’t any noticeable differences between the men’s and women’s versions.

Timberland simply wanted to make a different product. But then again, both of these have got the gender tag. So, if you’re a lady who doesn’t want to wear men’s boots, go ahead and buy these.

Maybe there are some differences between the fit and comfort. I don’t know for sure. But what I do know is both these boots top-notch choices for any kind of rugged work environment.

Timberland PRO Men’s 53534 Titan Safety-Toe Slip-on

  • Upper Material: Soft full-grain leather with alloy safety toe
  • Weight: 1.6 pounds

After the Powertrain series, these might be the most unusual pair of work boots. Well, you can’t even call them work boots, can you? Work shoe is a more suitable name for them.

But there’s a catch. While many people are fans of rugged leather work boots, a lot of people don’t want to go through the hassle of putting them on.

And once you’ve put on a pair of work boots, taking them off can take some time too. Some people simply want the comfort of a slip-on shoe. That’s where the Timberland PRO Men’s Titan Safety-Toe Slip-on shoes shine at their brightest.

You get the same confident steps while not sacrificing comfort. But there’s no that an ankle boot will offer a bit more comfort. However, you have to sacrifice something in order to get something else.

Downsides and Thoughts

Despite being slip-on shoes, you might struggle a little bit if you have wide feet. You can’t loosen up the opening like many other larger work boots. So, this is something you have to live with.

11. Timberland PRO Men’s Wedge Sole 6″ Boot

  • Upper Material: Soft full-grain leather with a soft toe
  • Weight: 1.8 pounds

Features

  • Steel shank for structural support
  • Goodyear welt construction
  • Electrical hazard protection
  • Moisture-wicking lining with an added odor control feature

Not everyone needs a heavy-duty, rugged pair of leather work boots. Sometimes what you need is a lightweight work boot that lets you go anywhere you want without having to drag a heavy boot with you.

The Timberland PRO Men’s Wedge Sole 6″ Boot is undoubtedly the best lightweight Timberland work boots. If you want the durability of the PRO series but don’t want to deal with the bells and whistles they often come with, these boots are the ones for you.

And I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, the rubber sole on the bottom is different too. It’s kind of shaped like a crepe sole

If you don’t about these soles, just know that they are super comfortable to walk on. You’ll absolutely love them, trust me on this.

But there’s a downside to that added comfort. These soles are much lighter and less durable than you’d want them to be. They aren’t meant to be used to perform heavy-duty activities.

Downsides and Thoughts

The durability is no doubt a bummer. But that doesn’t mean they’ll come apart in months. You’ll easily get by a few years if you know how to make the best use out of them.

12. Timberland PRO Powerwelt

The name Powerwelt says it all. These Timberland work boots are made for all the power tool users out there.

Features

  • Premium Ever-Guard™ leather
  • Waterproof membrane for protection
  • Superior rubber soles with Ladder Lock™ technology
  • Durable mechanical bond with Goodyear welt construction
  • Steel shank for enhanced structural support

Timberland PRO Men’s Powerwelt Wellington Boot

Weight: 5 pounds

If I ever had to choose a work boot for a welder, I would choose the Timberland PRO Men’s Powerwelt Wellington Boot without having a second guess.

Now, I know what you might be thinking. Aren’t the previous work boots rugged and durable too?

Don’t get me wrong. All the boots are super durable. I’ve handpicked these boots myself knowing their strengths and weaknesses.

When it comes to brushing off excess material, these boots are a pro. And the plus point is these are wellington boots. So, your entire feet will stay protected.

Even though the extra height makes these the heaviest boots on this list, you probably won’t have a problem adjusting to it.

The weight distribution allows your feet to get accustomed to the boots pretty fast. But if you still want a smaller size, scroll below.

Timberland PRO Men’s Power Welt 6″ Waterproof Steel Toe Industrial Work Boot

Weight: 2 pounds

Reinforced Ever-Guard leather, super-hard steel toe, all these make up for the ideal industrial work boot. From the choice of materials to the build quality, Timberland made sure to leave no gap.

If you’re a welder, your work boots need to brush off anything you throw at them. And guess what? You can completely depend on this pair to do that.

I wouldn’t be able to say the same thing if the upper material was made out of waxed leather.

Compared to the wellington boots, these boots weigh less than half. So, the weight factor should bother you anymore.

13. Timberland PRO Men’s 6 Inch Rigmaster XT Steel-Toe Waterproof Work Boot

Upper Material: Waterproof full-grain leather upper with additional waterproof membrane

Weight: 2.1 pounds

Features

  • Water impermeable membrane for superior waterproofing
  • Mesh lining with Agion® anti-odor treatment
  • OrthoLite® footbed for durability and comfort
  • ‘Fingergrip’ pull-on feature for easy access
  • Steel shank
  • Triangular lock lugs for maximum traction

Do you know what I love about Timberland? This brand managed to cover every track along its way. Whether it be fashion boots or work boots, they’ve got your back.

And even when you niche down to only work boots, they have tons of varieties for people with different occupations. Whether you’re a welder or someone who works in an oil rig, Timberland has something to offer.

Timberland PRO Men’s Rigmaster XT is the best choice for people who need waterproofing to the max. I see so many people complaining that they can’t find the ideal waterproof boot.

Well, they’re not completely wrong or right. A lot of the waterproof boots are simply water-resistance. I mean, it’s a boot made out of leather with stitches. What were you expecting?

But these boots have an additional protective layer to protect you from any kind of liquid. I agree that it kind of ruins the look.

However, your purpose here is functionality. If having that layer adds a year or two to the longevity, I’d always choose to have them.

Downsides and Thoughts

I’d say the looks are what bugs me the most. I really hope Timberland finds another way to add that protective layer while improving the looks.

Timberland Pro vs Timberland: Which is Better?

If you are searching for gorgeous and protective boots from Timberland, then you might have come up with Timberland PRO. However, the common issue that arises among many Timberland boots lovers is what’s the difference between the PRO version and Timberland boots.

Timberland PRO is just what the name says – boots only for the professional service providers or workers in the manufacturing, construction, public safety, industries, and healthcare. It is suited perfectly for different working conditions.

Most of these Timberland PRO features isolation and also waterproofing in different professional circumstances. Moreover, these boots are designed for people for everyday use. So, here we’ll go into the distinctions between our regular Timberland PRO and casual boots collection, and see how these distinguish from each other.

TIMBERLAND Started Making Boots for Professionals Only

Timberland initially started off as a designer and maker of high-performing boots and footwear for hard-working and service-providing Americans.

Sidney Swartz, the designer of these boots merely wanted to develop a hard-wearing, waterproof boot which would give dryness, comfort, support, and stability for the nation’s professional labor class — manufacturing workers, loggers, engineers, and many more.

So, later on, he came up with the iconic yellow boots that became one of the style trends of all time.

Nobody Even Imagined What was About to Hit the Footwear Trend

Who would even wear these worker boots for fashion? Well, it started with pop culture in the late 80s and these boots were accepted as streetwear, but even an appreciation of these boots’ durable quality and dimensions that fit the stomping, hard sounds of the culture.

Thus, Timberland, one of the top-selling footwear fashion brands were launched. Moreover, without any slacking design, function, and workmanship, they established a global recognition and name, with various collections spreading into kids’, women’s styles, clothes, casual footwear, outerwear, and pure streetwear.

Even Timberland PRO reflects the original enthusiastic spirit and style of the amazing Timberland brand.

What Makes These Boots Such an Amazing Collection Compared to Timberland?

The PRO boot collection is mainly for rigorous work, mostly in a risky situation where safety and health precautions are the primary concern:

  • Anti-fatigue technology
  • Safety Toes
  • Waterproofing
  • Electrical Hazard Protection
  • Metatarsal guards
  • Slip Resistance
  • Static-dissipative
  • Insulation
  • Safety Options for Your Toes

It’s not a specific feature present on all the Timberland PRO footwear, but if the profession necessitates safety toe shoes or boots, there are many options to select from.

For instance, the steel toe boots of Timberland are the thinnest toe covers and even offer full protection from dangerous equipment, machinery, and even falling objects.

Moreover, composite toe shoes and boots are pretty light in weight and are also strong on safety and protection. Even the Timberland alloy toe shoes and boots provide military-grade strength and are also pretty lightweight. It also offers soft toe working boots in any case if your job or work doesn’t have any risks of a toe injury.

Anti-Fatigue Tech Used

When you stay on your feet for long, you definitely need boots to protect and cushion your feet. That’s why Timberland brings you exclusive anti-fatigue tech in several of the work boots.

Moreover, anti-fatigue tech with its conical shape in its polyurethane midsole lessens shock and restores energy back to your foot.

Electrical Protection

Timberland boots that come with electrical protection offer the best protection against electrical currents entering your body through the foot. Moreover, these boots from Timberland also have thick and protective rubber soles that deliver natural protection.

Waterproof

Timberland PRO is mainly recognized for manufacturing high-quality waterproof boots and footwear for both men and women.

Most Timberland boots and shoes give a range of waterproofing abilities from light to even severe rain. Most types feature a waterproofing material that traps out water and also resists snow.

Timberland PRO boots mainly focus to keep the feet dry at all costs. Whether you walk through snow or rain, Timberland PRO boots will provide you with the best waterproofing no matter how worse the weather gets.

How to Choose the Best Timberland Hiking Boots?

Choosing the proper hiking boots is not something as easy as snapping your fingers. It requires quite a bit of knowledge. No, you don’t need a Ph.D. to buy a pair of hiking boots. But you need to have decent knowledge about a few things if you want the perfect hiking boots for you.

Upper

There are many different materials used to make the uppers of hiking boots. These materials directly impact the boot’s weight, breathability, durability, and water resistance.

Full-grain leather, Split-grain leather, Nubuck leather, Synthetics, Waterproof membranes- these are some of the materials that Timberland uses to make high-quality hiking boots.

But the most important factor is durability. Different types of leather have different purposes. So, it’s obvious that the durability is going to be different depending on what you put it through.

For example, suede and nubuck can’t go through everything. Sure, they are durable. But you can’t really reinforce the durability by replenishing the leather with a conditioner.

That’s only possible with full-grain leather. So, this is something you need to look out for. However, if you work in dry conditions, suede and nubuck can be an ideal choice for you.

Midsoles

The midsole is what provides cushioning to your feet when you wear them. It also absorbs shocks and determines the stiffness of a hiking boot.

Midsoles are usually made of EVA or Polyurethane. Timberland uses EVA midsoles as they are cushier and less stiff than Polyurethane midsoles. Even though this isn’t a major thing as you don’t even have control over it. The midsole basically comes with the package. However, the PRO series Timberland work boots always come up with something new to offer.

Outsoles

All hiking boot outsoles are made of rubber. Timberland uses a rubber lug pattern on their hiking boots to provide more traction.

Nowadays, they use recyclable rubber to make the outsoles, which is more eco-friendly. The PRO work series boots are pretty much indestructible when it comes to their outsoles. In fact, I can say this confidently for most Timberland boots.

Unless it has crepe soles and the sole purpose is mobility and comfort, you probably don’t need to worry about the outsole of Timberland outsoles.

Weight

Work boots vary depending on their weight. Boots that weigh under 18 ounces(per shoe) are considered lightweight boots. 18-22 ounces are mid-weight boots.

Boots that are heavier than 22 ounces could be called heavyweight working boots. Timberland produces all kinds of work boots. You should choose yours depending on your working style and comfort.

However, there’s a catch here. You don’t need to worry about the weight too much. Unless you need to move a lot from one point to another, weight shouldn’t be an important factor.

And at one point, you’ll get pretty used to the weight. Remember the Wellington boots I’ve reviewed earlier? Those are the heaviest work boots on this list.

However, most people who wear these boots don’t complain about the weight. Mostly because they get used to the weight quite effortlessly.

I mean, they’re not as heavy as bricks. So, what matters more is how they distribute the weight. And it’s safe to say, Timberland did a pretty good job. But then again, you should read more customer reviews if you already have issues with boot weights.

Waterproofing

Most working boots nowadays are waterproof. Because if water somehow gets inside your boot, it will get trapped inside.

Your socks will soak the water and make your working experience extremely irritating. Timberland uses Gore-Tex or TimberDry waterproof membranes to make their working boots water-resistant.

Sizing

What’s the easiest to make sure your work boots aren’t comfortable? Get the wrong size. It’ll work every time, trust me.

But all things aside, don’t mess up the sizing. Buying boots online doesn’t have to be a dealbreaker. You simply need to know your shoe size properly. Ensuring basically means half of your job is already done.

However, some things might be a bit different work boots. For example, if you choose a steel toe boot, you might get confused about whether you have enough space around the toes or not.

When trying out work boots, always remember that your primary goal about sizing is to find a pair of boots that offer the most stability. With enough time, the boots will become even more comfortable as they break-in.

But as you already know, that can take more than 4 weeks. Make sure the boots aren’t too tight or too wide. Look out for that snug feeling and you’ll be good to go.

Breathability

A lot of work boots face problems with breathability. Because of the heavy upper materials and waterproof membranes, there remains very little room for your feet to breathe.

Thus your feet will start sweating, and your socks will soak that sweat. Timberland work boots offer you excellent breathability. So you can hike for a long time without worrying about sweaty feet.

A good way to check it out is to check out the design. If there are ways to let air in and out, you probably don’t have to worry too much about it.

Wrapping Up

And that’s a wrap on my take of the best Timberland work boots. If you’re still not, I suggest you start again at the quick recommendation section. And then, slowly work your way down.

Once you’ve chosen what you want, head over to one of the links to seal the deal or not. Take your time in figuring out what you need. After all, you will have to spend a significant amount of time with the boots.
